About Me

I am a resident physician at Duke University Hospital and Duke Primary Care. I see patients in clinic regularly at the Duke Primary Care Pickett Road location. My specialty is internal medicine which includes taking care of adults with acute or chronic conditions, helping with health maintenance needs, and providing holistic, personalized care for each patient I see. Part of my role as an internal medicine primary care doctor is to also help coordinate care with other specialties and connect individuals with resources to help live a healthy life. I prioritize sharing the decision making process with my patients and building care plans tailored to everyone's unique needs. I am originally from Tampa, Florida, and have lived in Durham for over a decade. I love the community here in North Carolina and I love helping this community become healthier. Outside of clinical work, I enjoy working in my yard, cooking for my friends and family, and cheering on the Duke Blue Devils.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My research interests include social determinants of health and infectious diseases. Social determinants of health are non-medical or non-clinical factors that influence someone's wellness. Examples of social determinants of health include transportation, social well-being, food insecurity, income, and experienced discrimination among countless others. My goal in studying these is to improve equality in treating and preventing infections in people of all backgrounds. My research in the past also includes studying how medications can affect heart cells and making drug trials safer for the public.
