About Me
What I most love about being a voice specialist is sharing knowledge with my patients. Having a clearer understanding of how the voice works and what happens when things go wrong often gives patients the confidence they need to begin the process of healing. The field of voice is broad, and I am grateful to be able to serve so many different patient populations. I draw upon my many years as a professional stage actor and singer when helping rehabilitate patients with a range of voice demands. Working with patients who require voice rehabilitation after head and neck cancer treatment is of particular interest to me. Outside of clinic, I enjoy lecturing to professionals and mentoring students. My current research interests include laryngeal movement disorders. Some of my personal interests are cooking, traveling, practicing yoga and singing.

Clinical Focus and Research
My research interests include laryngeal movement disorders, such as essential vocal tremor and spasmodic dysphonia. I co-authored "An Unusual Etiology of Vocal Tremor in a professional singer" (in press). I am currently investigating the rate of essential vocal tremor in a large cohort of patients. I presented on this topic at the 2017 Fall Voice Conference in Washington, D.C. I have had the unique advantage of being exposed to a large number of patients with essential vocal tremor. Consequently, I have become accustomed to what we appreciate as normal rate, that is, how fast the characteristic shaking of the voice occurs in this patient population. Scientifically establishing the rate of essential vocal tremor may be helpful in diagnosing and treating patients with this voice disorder.
