About Me

I entered health care 20 years ago out of a desire to help people live better lives, and that desire continues today. I have had a variety of experiences in health care as a nurse’s aide, an RN in the hospital, a school nurse, an NP in primary care and now as a tobacco cessation specialist. I aim to help people achieve better health outcomes and engage with them in a collaborative patient-provider relationship to find what works for them as individuals. We all have different life experiences and approach life through different lenses, so we need individualized health care solutions. I strive to provide that for every patient I see. I am excited to join the tobacco cessation team at Duke to continue providing individualized care in this area. I grew up in the Midwest and moved to North Carolina 10 years ago. I loved the area so much I decided to stay, plant roots here and slowly convince other family members to move nearby. I enjoy spending time with my husband and young daughter playing outside, going on walks, visiting local parks and, when time allows, playing board games. I am passionate about good coffee, good food and building with Lego and sharing that with my daughter.

Ratings and Reviews

The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall clinician rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst clinician possible and 10 is the best clinician possible, what number would you use to rate this clinician?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all clinicians. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of clinicians receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
