About Me

Like many others, my interest in caring for older adults started as a child, hearing about the lives of my grandparents and watching them navigate the aging process. Over the years, my passion for geriatrics grew as I realized the field encompassed everything I loved about being a clinician: managing medically complex conditions, prioritizing patient preferences, incorporating both medications and non-pharmacologic practices, and working with families. In my practice, I strive to make sure my patients and their loved ones feel heard and that their priorities are respected as they age. I diagnose and treat geriatric syndromes including falls, memory changes, depression/anxiety, functional changes and polypharmacy. When not working, I enjoy going on walks with my husband and our dog, gardening, knitting, and enjoying Durham’s amazing local food scene.
