About Me
I’m a native North Carolinian and second generation gastroenterologist. I’m a general gastroenterologist, so I treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, and pancreas. This includes heart burn, constipation, diarrhea, inflammatory bowel disease, pancreatitis, cirrhosis, and numerous other conditions. I also perform routine endoscopic procedures, such as upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. I love gastroenterology as a specialty because it requires a team effort from nurses, techs, and patients to provide quality care. Being from North Carolina, I treat my patients as family and encourage a dialogue with my patients as medicine is a balance of science and art. Every individual is different. When not working, I enjoy reading and hunting, but my main focus outside of work is my wife and two young sons.

Ratings and Reviews
The ratings and reviews are based on patient responses to the overall provider rating question from the survey. The question reads: “Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?” Responses are converted to a 5-point rating system and applied consistently to all providers. Learn more about our survey process. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
