My research interests have developed directly from the questions I encounter in clinical practice, with a focus on cardiometabolic prevention and women’s cardiovascular health. I’m particularly interested in identifying novel therapeutic strategies and developing practical, scalable approaches to improve prevention, treatment, and access to cardiovascular care.

About Me
Some of my earliest memories are of sitting around the dinner table while my dad, also a cardiologist, drew pictures of the heart on napkins. Today, I enjoy drawing many of those same diagrams for my own patients to help make their heart health easier to understand. I am a preventive cardiologist with a particular interest in using imaging to better understand and personalize cardiovascular care. I am especially passionate about helping patients understand the connections between conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and obesity and their heart health. My goal is not only to treat cardiovascular disease, but also to help patients feel informed and empowered to take an active role in their health. I believe good care starts with listening to each patient, understanding their goals and priorities, and working together to create a plan that is both evidence-based and realistic. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring trails and parks, and cheering on Duke basketball.
