Duke Health has been selected as an Access Provider in the North Carolina State Health Plan’s new tiered provider network for 2027, ensuring state employees and their families can continue receiving care through Duke beginning January 1, 2027.
The agreement ensures State Health Plan members will continue to have access to high quality, affordable care as the Plan introduces its new tiered provider network. Access Providers help ensure members can continue receiving high quality, affordable under the Plan’s new provider network. For members who choose Duke Health, that means continued access to the full spectrum of Duke Health services, from routine primary care to nationally recognized specialty care, including cancer care, transplants and other highly specialized treatments.
As an Access Provider, Duke Health will continue offering State Health Plan members access to its statewide network of hospitals, physician practices and ambulatory locations across North Carolina, connecting patients to the full range of primary care, specialty care and highly specialized treatments available through Duke Health. In 2025, State Health Plan members received care through Duke Health more than 253,000 times.
