About Me

I am a urologic oncologist who specializes in the diagnosis and surgical management of genitourinary malignancies. I have a special interest in providing care for patients with prostate cancer but also provide care for patients with kidney and bladder cancers. I have extensive training in image-guided fusion prostate biopsy and employ this technique to ensure the most accurate cancer diagnosis possible. Many urological cancers do not require surgical intervention and can be safely managed with active surveillance. When treatment is necessary, I use minimally-invasive surgical approaches whenever possible to expedite recovery and optimize quality of life. These include focal therapy for prostate cancer as well as robotic surgical removal of the prostate, kidney, and bladder. I am a firm believer in the importance of patient education as this empowers my patients to make care decisions that align with their personal values. Listening to my patients and confirming their understanding of their cancer diagnosis ensures a clear line of communication and allows us to work together towards treatment.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My research interests include imaging and prognostic biomarkers for active surveillance, focal therapy and the tumor-immune microenvironment, and the role of neoadjuvant therapies prior to surgical management of localized prostate cancer. I was the recipient of a Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator’s Award to identify tumor microenvironmental factors associated with oncologic response to focal therapy.
