ABOUT ME

I began my career as a speech language pathologist in Greenville, NC at PMCH/Vidant Medical Center working on the TBI unit in inpatient rehab as well as several years in acute care prior to moving to Raleigh, NC with my husband. After moving to Raleigh, I worked in acute care as well as inpatient rehab focusing on neurologically impaired, spinal cord injury and medically complex patients. Given my extensive hospital based work environments, I have a lot of experience working with a variety of medical/neurological diagnoses resulting in cognitive, language (aphasia), communication and swallowing impairments. I am trained in objective swallowing assessment – Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of swallowing (FEES) and Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS). I am also Vital Stim and LSVT-LOUD certified. Although I am a new member of the outpatient rehab team, I bring a great deal of experience to this setting. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and dog.
