Description

The aim of Art Therapy @ Nasher is to use art-making as a way to access and express feelings related to a patient's cancer experience. The focus of the work is more on the process of visual expression and less on a final or 'completed' art piece. Participants will have the opportunity to explore common themes and the unique challenges within the group. A majority of the time in each group is spent creating imagery and/or objects, with space at the end to discuss what participants have made. Art experience is not necessary. The group is hosted by the Duke Cancer Patient Support Program and is held at the Nasher Museum of Art, located at 2001 Campus Drive in Durham. To register, call 919-684-4497. To learn more about cancer support services, visit dukehealth.org/cancersupport.
