PD-Improv - Clinical Trial
What is the Purpose of this Study?
People who join this study will first complete questionnaires and have a short evaluation with a doctor who specializes in movement disorders. They will then take part in a Parkinson disease improv workshop that meets once a week for four weeks. Each workshop lasts about 90 minutes. After the workshops are finished, participants will complete the questionnaires again and have another short evaluation with the doctor. Researchers will use this information to see how the improv program may affect movement, symptoms, and quality of life.

Who Can Participate in the Study?
People with Parkinson's disease, over the age of 18, who can understand and speak English
What is Involved?
This study looks at how a special type of acting activity called medical improv may help people with Parkinson disease. Medical improv uses games and exercises that encourage listening, communication, and teamwork. Participants practice skills such as paying attention to others and building on ideas with phrases like "Yes, and."
Researchers want to learn if these activities can improve well being, help people feel less lonely, and reduce feelings of being treated differently because of their disease. The goal is to help people with Parkinson disease build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and improve their quality of life.
