Transitions Low Back Pain Study - Clinical Trial

What is the Purpose of this Study?

Study participants will be asked to attend two in-person study visits three months apart. Visits will take place either in Durham, NC or Kannapolis, NC. Each visit involves providing a small blood sample, completing a brief pain assessment, and answering questionnaires about your pain experiences and general wellbeing. After six months, we will ask you to answer some additional questionnaires electronically.

Acute Low Back Pain

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults ages 18+ who:
- Have been experiencing low back pain for FOUR or fewer weeks with no specific cause.
- Have an email address and access to a computer

We are doing this study to understand how different factors, such as pain experiences and inflammation, may affect how acute back pain transitions to chronic back pain.
