Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Services
We care for children with a wide range of diseases and disorders such as:
- Sickle cell anemia
- Bone marrow failure
- Bleeding or blood clotting disorders
- Leukemia
- Lymphoma
- Sarcoma and other tumors
Our board-certified pediatric specialists work closely with pediatric surgeons, radiation oncologists, and other specialists to develop an individualized care plan for your child. At Duke, you have access to standard therapies and may also have the opportunity to participate in innovative clinical research trials of new treatments.
Nurses and social workers will support you and your family throughout your child’s treatment. For our teen and young adult patients, specialized team members focus on counseling issues unique to this age range.
Our providers may recommend the following tests and treatments for children, adolescents, and young adults:
- Diagnostic bloodwork and X-rays
- Organ function tests including heart and lung function tests
