Leadership Programs in Health and Well-Being
Leadership Program in Health and Well-Being
This one-year, online leadership development and business mentoring program includes three in-person Immersions, a personalized mentorship experience with faculty from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business, and an opportunity to work with a Duke-trained health coach. You’ll gain the knowledge and skills you need to plan, launch, and lead a health and well-being program and lead transformative change.
Health and Well-Being Coach Training Program
Learn how to engage individuals to make transformational health behavior changes that maximize their health and well-being. This program includes hand-on experiences and combines online curriculum with instructor-led training to accommodate your busy schedule.
We create customized programs for organizations and corporations that want to create a culture of wellness and a healthier workplace. Common topics include resiliency, stress management, mindfulness in the workplace, and personal health planning. Retreats can span hours or days and can be catered by our integrative café.
Mindfulness, Stress Reduction, and Meditation Programs
Changing from Within
Learn mindfulness practices to achieve and maintain a healthy weight. During eight two-hour sessions, you’ll connect your mind, body, and behaviors so you can better control your diet and attain your health goals.
Bring balance to your life through meditation that teaches kindness, compassion, and joy. Learn how to cultivate happiness and enhance your well-being. We’ll guide you through meditative sessions in eight weekly, 90-minute classes and encourage you to practice at home. No previous meditation experience is needed.
Cultivating Resiliency: Harnessing Your Body’s Adaptive Response to Stress
This two-day workshop starts with an exploration of how you deal with stress and find resiliency. From there, you’ll gain skills to help you adapt and learn how to use mind-body techniques to relax naturally and easily. The goal is to help you respond to stress in a way that strengthens the immune system and promotes long-term healing and well-being.
Experience a lunchtime “taste” of mindfulness every Wednesday at noon. New participants with no experience will learn meditation with an experienced instructor. Those with experience can join the teacher-led group and practice in a community setting with other meditators.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
Our longest-running program guides you through cultivating increased awareness and introduces skills to help you manage and reduce stress. During this multi-week program, you’ll practice various meditation techniques and gentle movement. This will help you react to life’s stressors in a healthy and responsible way. This class is also available online.
Day of Mindfulness
People from past MBSR sessions come together with those currently enrolled in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction sessions for a one-day meditation intensive to review or deepen your mindfulness practice in a retreat environment.
Living Your Best Life
An all-encompassing look at how to create a dynamic vision for your health and well-being. Your work will focus on mindfulness techniques that help you achieve lifestyle goals and a connection between your mind and body. You'll be partnered with a Duke Integrative Medicine health coach to guide your journey.
Duke Integrative Medicine’s healing environment features spa-like amenities including whirlpool, sauna, steam room, meditation spaces, walking labyrinth, library, quiet room, contemplative gardens, Integrative Café, and more.
60-Second Stress Relief
Learn how to incorporate 60-second yoga practices into your day to help you relax and rejuvenate. The three-hour workshop is open to everyone of every age and fitness level. No previous yoga experience is required.
Healing Yoga for Back and Neck Pain
Learn to properly stretch and strengthen muscles during six, 90-minute sessions. Combine those movements with breathing exercises to relieve back and neck pain. This program will teach you to relax your body and mind.
This supportive and relaxing yoga class is perfect for people new to yoga and are working with mobility challenges, chronic pain, or injury. The class will help you improve your balance, flexibility, and strength.
For Those Who Hurt: Managing Chronic Pain
Learn self-care options to help you manage chronic pain and improve healing after an injury. Gain skills in self-massage and acupressure to relieve pain, sample topical lotions, and learn about the healing tools our teams use in their practices.

You'll hear about 25 healing movements you can perform to get stronger, healthier hands. Discover how your movement, posture, ergonomics, and breathing offer whole-body benefits.
Rolling for Resilience
Learn the best foam roller techniques for self-massage, body alignment, and core strengthening. Posture exercises and dynamic movements on the roller increase your body’s resilience and restore balanced movement. Please bring your own roller.

Focus on a mind-body-spirit approach that taps on acupuncture points during individual and group exercises. The four-week workshop combines breath work, imagery, movement, and dreamwork.
