The quality scores below tell you how well Duke hospitals follow evidence-based guidelines for care before, during, and after surgery. Click a link to compare Duke’s scores with state and national averages.
- Patients who were given an antibiotic at the right time (within one hour before surgery) to help prevent surgical infection
- Patients who got treatment at the right time (within 24 hours before or after certain types of surgery) to help prevent blood clots
- Patients whose preventive antibiotic(s) are stopped within 1 day after surgery
- Patients who were kept on beta blockers before and after surgery
