- Cataract surgery
- Laser vision consultations and surgery (LASIK and PRK)

- Retinal diseases such as macular degeneration, detached retina, diabetic retinopathy and uveitis

- Acute eye problems, such as infections, and early management of chronic eye diseases

Please note that contact lens fittings are not available at this location. You may schedule an appointment for a contact lens fitting at our main Duke Eye Center or at the Duke Eye Center of North Durham.
Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. Preparing For Your Visit
Thank you for choosing Duke Eye Center, for your care. Our goal is to provide excellent care, personalized to your needs. During your visit, a team of specialists will care for you.
If you are coming in for routine eye care, expect your visit to last 1-2 hours. If you are scheduled with a specialist in retina, glaucoma, or for a cataract evaluation, your visit may take several hours. Your visit may include time to dilate your eyes, which can take up to 45 minutes, perform tests, and complete a comprehensive exam; combined in one visit for your convenience. There is free parking in the parking garage adjacent to Duke Medicine Plaza.
