About Me

I specialize in treating patients with neuromuscular diseases, such as neuropathy, myopathy, muscular dystrophy, and myasthenia gravis. I also incorporate nerve conduction study, EMG study, or skin biopsy. I am originally from Japan where I had my first training and practice in neurology. I moved to the United States for additional residency and fellowship training when I decided to seek further understandings of neuroscience. After working in two countries, I learned not only better insights into neurology but also the importance of treating the patient, not just the disease. In my practice, I like to spend time listening to my patients to know who they are in addition to their conditions. It is truly a rewarding moment for me when I feel connected with my patients as a partner walking through the journey with them as they  deal with their disease. I always want my patients to know that they are not alone, and we are here for them.
