About Me

Overview

As a specialist in neuroradiology, I am fortunate to serve both my patients and the referring physicians and providers who send patients to our department for various services. On the diagnostic side, I enjoy serving as a consultant to other physicians and providers, interpreting CT and MRI imaging studies and helping them determine the best course of treatment for various conditions affecting the brain, head, neck, and spine. I also take great joy in interacting with and helping patients more directly via our CT- and ultrasound-guided head/neck and spine interventional service at Duke University Hospital and our Interventional Spine Clinic at Duke Health Southpoint. Being able to examine a patient, analyze their imaging, and offer a minimally-invasive procedure to better diagnose their condition or alleviate their pain is immensely rewarding.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests
Research Interests

My research focuses on the use of advanced imaging and image analysis technologies in diagnostic imaging of the brain, head, neck, and spine with a particular focus on the clinical implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for medical imaging. AI offers great potential to advance our field. However, it will require multidisciplinary collaboration between radiologists, our referring physicians/providers, and computer scientists to ensure we design and implement this technology if we hope for it to truly improve patient outcomes.
