ABOUT ME

My focus and interest in pain management is pharmacologic treatment. Due to my background and training I am able to take into consideration the whole of someone’s condition, not just their pain. After detailed assessment of all the patient’s complaints I spend substantial time reviewing possible genetic contributions in addition to previous responses to medication. With this information in hand we mutually come to understand what can be done to assist with pain management using Functional Pharmacology as our basic approach. Functional Pharmacology requires that we know the actual effect of medications, not the assumed effects, and then use that knowledge to assist with progressing a person’s ability to live the life they want, not just treat a disease they may have. We treat patients realistically and respectfully, looking for optimal recovery.
