WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I treat patients with different kinds of glaucoma as well as those with cataracts. I’ve always been interested in medicine; in fact, I knew wanted to be a doctor since I was four years old. I enjoy getting to know my patients and building relationships with them. Glaucoma is a chronic disease, so it can be frustrating and scary for patients, so I try to ease their worries as much as I can and explain everything in great detail. It’s exciting to work for Duke because we are one of the best in the country in treating glaucoma and other eye problems. In addition to our expertise, we conduct research and work others at Duke to help advance our technologies – allowing us to be on the cutting edge.

MY RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research focuses on new devices and technology in glaucoma treatment. Through Duke’s infrastructure, we are fortunate to be able to work with biomedical engineers who study nanopartical development in order to study new ways of delivering drugs to our patients, which would reduce the issues with chronic drop therapy. In the not so distant future, I believe we’ll have new treatment concepts to offer our patients.
