About Me

I love the team that I work with at Duke. As a nurse practitioner in pediatric urology, I feel as though I have sufficient time and support to care for all my patients and their families. Working at Duke allows me to collaborate with world-class members of the medical field and take advantage of cutting-edge research and innovations. I love seeing my patients each day. Working with children brings such joy to my day. I care for children with urologic concerns. I also provide urologic care for children and adults with spina bifida. I work very closely with my patients and their families to generate treatment goals and plans to best manage their conditions and concerns. I try to integrate the research that my team and I are involved with into the care I provide to ensure the most up-to-date treatment options for each child. After growing up in Maine, then practicing in New York City and California, my husband and I are happy to be settled in North Carolina. We enjoy running and hiking in all the wonderful parks nearby.

Clinical Focus and Research
My Research Interests

I am interested in studying how to best manage bladder and bowel continence in the spina bifida population. I am also interested in looking at the current state of transitional care programs for people with congenital diseases and disorders who are going into adulthood. Together with my pediatric urology team, we are also working to determine the underlying causes of incontinence in those with other medical conditions. I have completed research in many areas of pediatric urology, including vesicoureteral reflux, hypospadias repair and pain management after urologic surgery.
