Duke Health contracts with most major health insurance carriers and transplant networks, including the ones listed below. Before scheduling your appointment, we strongly recommend you contact your insurance company to verify that the Duke Health location or provider you plan to visit is included in your network. Your insurance company will also be able to inform you of any co-payments, co–insurances, or deductibles that will be your responsibility. If you proceed in scheduling an appointment and your health insurance benefits do not participate with Duke, your out of pocket liability may be higher. We will contact you regarding your coverage and patient liability. If you are uninsured, learn more about our financial assistance policy.

WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I have been at the Duke Adult Bone Marrow Transplant Program since 1999. I love working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to manage and care for patients undergoing stem cell transplant for hematologic malignancies, sickle cell disease, and autoimmune disease. Patients require a great deal of monitoring and support during the transplant process, and I want to help them do well. I focus on the patient and the patient's family and caregivers. I love teaching and explaining in terms people understand. I am originally from Northern New York State but have been in North Carolina since the early 80's. I love the South and Southerners, but I can still speak Yankee as needed. I love traveling with family and friends. I am also known as the Vitamin D person for our department due to my passion for simple interventions, which can make a big difference.
