About Me

My career in oncology has spanned 30 years. Over that course of time, I have been witness to amazing advances in cancer care. My father died of leukemia when I was 11 years old. This experience shaped my life and drew me to oncology nursing. My path has been filled with varied oncology experiences, including direct patient care and clinical research. I work with an amazing team of expert clinicians that understand how the marriage of scientific curiosity and human compassion allows us to continually improve cancer care, every day with every patient. Gratitude is a gift cultivated in oncology. Patients teach us not only to live but how to have a life. Gratitude for some of my favorite things includes: the smell of rain, being mindful of the space my body occupies, shenanigans with my nieces and nephews, my dog's loving gaze, the challenge of hiking & backpacking that feeds my senses. A wise patient once told me that it is better to "to do" things than to "have" things because you never have to dust off your memories.
