WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I specialize in lipidology, focusing on cholesterol and triglyceride disorders. I also diagnose and treat other endocrine problems. Particularly, I help patients reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis, a cause of heart attacks and most strokes. Our team has developed approaches that help many patients who have trouble taking statin drugs find alternative ways to lower their low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Proof requires more research, but many of our patients have gained confidence by living with coronary disease that has caused no new problems over 10-plus years. Our AIM-HIGH trial analysis, published in 2013, favors mealtime niacin. Our patients on low-glycemic diets lose more weight than on low-fat diets. No promises like the late-night TV ads, but we see long-term weight loss that improves lipids and reduces diabetes risk.
