WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I was thirteen years old when I decided I wanted to be a doctor. I found my passion for pediatrics and, after medical school, started my residency at Duke University. I was an intern in the neonatal intensive care unit when I was first introduced to a preterm infant. It was then that I fell in love with the field of neonatology and caring for preterm and high risk infants. From the minute a baby is brought into the NICU, we develop a special bond with the parents. They trust us with their most prized possession and parents become a vital part of the medical team. I too am a mom and motherhood changed my perspective on taking care of patients. Neonatology is a field where, as a mom, I can connect with the parents and, as a physician, thrive in caring for critically ill infants.
