WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I am a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in imaging children’s hearts. Doctors usually refer patients to me due to a specific concern about a child’s heart health. These concerns could include heart murmurs, passing out or chest pain. When I meet with a family, I try and put them at ease by explaining what’s going on with their child’s heart in simple terms. I decided to pursue medicine after I had the chance to travel to Honduras as a translator for a medical group. I enjoyed working with the patients and doctors on that trip so much that I decided my future was in medicine. My time outside of work is dedicated to my two school aged boys, which means I spend a lot of time either watching them play sports, playing sports with them or taking them to see sporting events.

MY RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests are related to echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart). I have been involved in studies trying to improve our ability to accurately detect certain diseases such as heart transplant rejection or pulmonary hypertension (elevated blood pressure in the lungs) by echocardiography. I also have been involved in studies involving fetal echocardiography to determine if we can determine which babies with congenital heart disease can safely spend time with their families immediately after delivery.
