WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I first came into medicine as a radiation therapist right out of high school. I loved patient care and feeling like I really made a difference on a day-to-day basis. My longing for a deeper understanding of the human body prompted me to pursue my bachelor's and master's degrees. My respect for the human body has only grown deeper and my love for caring for patients stronger. Many people ask if I feel saddened by my job when they learn that I work in oncology, but my answer is always the same: no. There will always be those patients to whom you grow more attached, but if you treat every patient like a family member and your top priority, then something amazing happens. The patient becomes a person, not a disease you are treating, and you alleviate more than the malady: you have begun to heal the spirit. As long as we can bring light to the lives of our patients, we cannot feel saddened by our work. We can choose to feel hopeful and to share that hope.
