ABOUT ME

We work with patients with arthritis and people who need hip or knee replacements, or who have had hip and knee replacements and still are having problems. I like to work with patients as if they were a member of my family or somebody you had known for a long time. And we generally do develop relationships with people because we see them for so long. I started seeing one patient when she was 8 or 9. She had cerebral palsy, and we worked through a lot of issues with her limitations. She ended up going into dance and starting her own dance troupe, and I attended her wedding a couple of years ago. To be a part of that process was pretty awesome. Duke Orthopaedics is unique because we have so any levels of providers -- therapists and physician assistants and nurse practitioners and surgeons and non-operative orthopaedists. We have a really comprehensive approach. Also, we see a lot of patients who have other significant medical problems. We have other specialties to help us get those patients through safely when they need surgery and may have breathing problems, heart problems or other issues.
