About Me

I aim to approach each person I meet with deep compassion and empathy and build a partnership oriented towards meeting their life goals. I love being a family medicine doctor because it provides me the opportunity to learn patients' stories. Through those stories, patients can begin actualizing their health goals and, in turn, help create a healthy community. I strive to stay updated on best practices and guidelines within family medicine to deliver high-quality and evidence-based care to children, pregnant women, and adults of all ages. I am deeply passionate about quality health care delivery to those with limited English proficiency and to historically underserved populations. I also have a background in trauma-informed care and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) that I hope to continue to explore while here at Duke. When I am not in the clinic or hospital, I love spending time cooking for loved ones and gardening with my dog at my side.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

My research interests include understanding how the financial burden of health care costs on patients affects their health, adverse childhood experiences and their effects on children and families, and quality improvement in health care delivery to immigrant and migrant worker populations. In learning more about these issues, I hope to bring the most up-to-date and evidence-based practices to each patient I meet. I also hope to learn from my patients' experiences with these issues, to lift their voices, and to advocate for them on a grander scale.
