WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I am a physician assistant in general cardiology at Duke and practice in the outpatient setting. I went to the Duke PA program from 1981-1983 and have worked at Duke since 1984. For a number of years, I worked in clinical trials as a project leader while maintaining a limited clinical practice, but over time I realized that I wanted to focus solely on the clinical care of patients. I enjoy working with people and am grateful to have an opportunity to help improve the lives of patients as a provider. I also find clinical medicine provides an exciting stimulus for ongoing education and learning. Outside of work, my wife and I enjoy taking care of our many pets, gardening, exercising and watching sports.

MY RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am interested in research that impacts clinical care in general, and particularly cardiology. Duke has been a leader in basic science research as well as evidence-based research through clinical trials that helps guide clinical practice. I enjoy practicing clinical medicine in an academic setting.
