About Me

I was born and raised in Michigan, graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I received my medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. After three years of residency and eight years in practice in Lansing, Michigan, I moved to North Carolina in 2009. My favorite aspect of family medicine is the care of multiple generations in the same family. I am passionate about the treatment of diabetes. I am married to my beautiful wife and we have five children/step-children. I am an avid college sports fan, especially football and basketball. I enjoy spending time at the beach and exploring the mountains and waterfalls of western North Carolina.

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.
