I have always wanted to work in health care. I have a passion for helping others, and a desire to be a part of something bigger than myself to better others' lives. When I first learned about the profession of audiology, I thought it was such a neat and positive profession! One of my favorite and most impactful clinical rotations was at a school for the Deaf where the primary mode of communication was sign language. I will never forget the experience of wanting to communicate with others, but being unable to. It was truly isolating. Communication and human interaction is such a basic everyday action that is so often taken for granted. This eye-opening moment fostered my desire to help provide pediatric patients with every opportunity to gain access to sound, speech, and language, as well as restore adults' ability to communicate with their loved ones. I am delighted to have the opportunity to diagnose hearing loss, formulate treatment plans, and work with patients and their family members to ease communication difficulties.
