About Me

I love being a vascular surgeon because it provides the opportunity to treat disease in all aspects of the body. I specialize in arterial disease, whether that means preventing an abdominal aortic aneurysm from rupturing or performing a bypass to end debilitating leg pain. Vascular surgery is a unique combination of traditional technical challenges and modern technology, which allows for minimally invasive procedures. Most important, vascular surgery allows me to create long-term relationships with my patients. I like to sit down and speak with patients and their families in order to create a family atmosphere where patients feel they can talk to me about anything. At the end of the day, we are all on the same team.

Ratings and Reviews

The Patient Rating score is an average of all responses to care provider related questions on our nationally-recognized Press Ganey Patient Satisfaction Survey. Learn more about our survey process. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best score. Patients who see some types of providers receive a different version of the patient satisfaction survey. Those results are not available on DukeHealth.org.

Clinical Focus and Research

My Research Interests

I am interested in complex aortic aneurysms, limb salvage efforts to avoid amputations, and strategies to improve patient outcomes. We make plans before and after surgery to help patients have the most success. I work to find solutions so that I rarely have to tell a patient they are out of options.
