As a woman and as a Latina I have always felt a calling to work with women who often make their families and their careers a priority. Working as an L&D nurse I saw how women gave so much of themselves during pregnancy and birth. Now as a nurse practitioner and mother, I have the privilege to work with women throughout their life span. From managing irregularities with menstrual cycles to achieving a healthy birth. I feel blessed that I have the opportunity to assist in making an impact on every patient's life. As women, there are many conditions that our families may not have talked about or may have normalized such as fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and ovarian cysts which are all conditions that can be managed with assistance from a clinician such as myself. As a nurse practitioner, I like to meet my patients where they are and create a plan that is tailored to their goals and needs. I am thankful that I can be of service to women in our community. With strong family ties to healthcare, I find that I have always had a heart to serve, and becoming a nurse practitioner has allowed me to do that. On the weekend you can find my family watching a movie, at a local playground or by the sea!
