WHERE I PROVIDE CARE
Profile
ABOUT ME

I knew that I wanted to become a nurse when I was a little girl. My grandmother became a nurse in 1917 when women weren’t really working outside the home. She was a nurse during the Depression and during World War II at a time when people didn’t really have a lot of good health care options. There were many nights when she was called to help deliver a baby or care for a sick child. I always remember hearing those stories from neighbors and my mother and aunts and uncles, and I was always so amazed at what an impact she had on people. I enjoy my role as a nurse practitioner, because I feel I am an advocate for patients when it comes to their health. I hope that I can educate them and also help them navigate the health care system. I love working here at Duke with physicians who are doing the research that will drive patient care in the future.
