Description

Survivorship Day is presented by the Duke Supportive Care and Survivorship Center. The event is designed to offer patients, their caregivers, and survivors with a day of rejuvenation and education.
Businesses from the community volunteer time, talent, and resources to provide a respite from the day-to-day challenges associated with cancer, its treatment, and survivorship. This is a day of celebration to honor all of Duke Cancer Institute’s (DCI) amazing survivors and their families.

The event will provide opportunities to learn about resources and strategies to help improve health and wellness from DCI providers and other cancer survivors, as well as to learn about research on cancer survivorship. Most of all it is a day to come together and CELEBRATE!

Rejuvenation activities include spa services such as complimentary make-up and skin care consultations, wig styling, wig/hair trims, massage therapy, and more. Gentle yoga, tai chi, cooking demonstrations, and expressive arts will also be features of the day.

Education activities provide guidance on support services offered through DCI and community resources for survivorship. A panel discussion featuring Duke Cancer Institute faculty and staff will discuss the latest research, care, and support. This discussion is open to audience questions.

This year we are offering Survivorship Day in two convenient locations. Duke Cancer Center Raleigh, Tuesday, June 4th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Duke Cancer Center, Durham, Wednesday, June 5th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
