Description

Ready for Post-Partum Running?

Some issues women may experience include aches and pain, joint pain, leakage and pelvic heaviness or discomfort. Returning to exercise and running after pregnancy can be a challenge, and our team at Duke wants to help you get to the finish line.
Register for a complimentary session with our board-certified physical-therapists for a personalized screening, which include testing for:

  • Balance
  • Diastasis (evaluation of the abdominal muscles to ensure they did not separate during pregnancy and delivery)
  • Plyometrics movements (such as jumping and rebounding)
  • Strength testing

Your consultation will review findings and determine if it is safe to return to run/exercise, or if you could use additional support.

Each session includes a personalized hour with a Duke physical therapist specializing in postpartum. Please note: we recommend not running until at least 12 weeks after giving birth but please consider coming if you have been cleared to return to exercise after 6 weeks.
