Newborn Care and Safety I (Virtual Event)

Newborn Care and Safety I is led by newborn nurses and childbirth educators at Duke University and Duke Regional Hospitals. In this virtual, lecture-style class, you will learn about the care that your baby will receive in the hospital and how you can care for your baby at home. We'll discuss:

• The standard care for newborns at Duke University and Duke Regional Hospitals
• Baby's needs for sleep, play, and feeding
• Understanding baby's behavior and avoiding over-stimulation
• Creating a safe and nurturing home environment
• Preventing common causes of injury to babies in the first year

Participants can take Newborn Care and Safety I on its own or co-currently with Newborn Care and Safety II. This class is offered both virtually and in-person.
