Description
Breastfeeding and Pumping I is led by Duke Health lactation consultants and childbirth educators. In this virtual, lecture-style class on Zoom, we'll learn why skin-to-skin care, rooming-in, and frequent feedings-on-demand are important for breastfeeding and milk production. We'll discuss:
- Benefits of breastfeeding for your family
- Feeding cues and expectations in the first week
- Achieving a comfortable position and latch
- How to tell if your baby is getting enough to eat
- Preventing and fixing common concerns in the first few weeks
Participants can take Breastfeeding and Pumping I on its own or co-currently with Breastfeeding and Pumping II. This class is offered both virtually and in-person.
