Breastfeeding and Pumping I (Virtual Event)

Breastfeeding and Pumping I is led by Duke Health lactation consultants and childbirth educators. In this virtual, lecture-style class on Zoom, we'll learn why skin-to-skin care, rooming-in, and frequent feedings-on-demand are important for breastfeeding and milk production. We'll discuss:

• Benefits of breastfeeding for your family
• Feeding cues and expectations in the first week
• Achieving a comfortable position and latch
• How to tell if your baby is getting enough to eat
• Preventing and fixing common concerns in the first few weeks

Participants can take Breastfeeding and Pumping I on its own or co-currently with Breastfeeding and Pumping II. This class is offered both virtually and in-person.
