FlexED (Early Intervention for Eating Disorders) - Clinical Trial

What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to test a new intervention that is designed to help adolescents and young adults who have signs and symptoms of an eating disorder. This study is funded by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health.

What is the Condition Being Studied?

Disordered Eating

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adolescents and young adults ages 15-25 who:

  • Are highly concerned about body weight or shape
  • Engage in problematic eating or weight control behaviors
  • Are not diagnosed with anorexia or bulimia nervosa

What is Involved?

If you choose to join this study, you will:

  • Complete 8 sessions of digital multimedia intervention at home
  • Engage in sessions that are 20-to-30 minutes long and present a main character encountering distressing thoughts and feelings about her body
  • Follow along with the study's character and complete interactive exercises online
