IMPACt-LBP (Lower Back Pain) - Clinical Trial

What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to test the effectiveness of the IMPACt-LBP Program. This program was built to help adult patients who have low back pain receive the right care at the right time with the right provider.

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults ages 18+ who are seeking treatment for low back pain at one of the following Duke Primary Care clinics:

  • DPC Brier Creek Family Medicine
  • DPC Croasdaile
  • DPC Hillsborough
  • DPC Mebane
  • DPC Midtown
  • DPC Butner-Creedmoor
  • DPC Morrisville
  • DPC Pickett Rd
  • DPC South Durham
  • DPC Waverly

What is Involved?

If you join this study, we will ask you to fill out questionnaires about your back pain at the following time points after you sign up:

  • 1 month
  • 3 months
  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • 2 years

You can do the questionnaires online, over the phone, or by mail. We will pay you for your time after you finish each questionnaire.

We will also reach out to you every month to see what treatments you’ve had for your back pain (if any). We can touch base with you by text, email, or over the phone.

Depending on your primary care clinic, we may refer you to a chiropractor or physical therapist.
