What is the Purpose of this Study?
We are doing this study to learn more about a new device that can preserve donor hearts before they are transplanted into a person.
We also want to see if hearts obtained from donors after circulatory death can be successfully transplanted.
What is the Condition Being Studied?
Heart Transplantation
Who Can Participate in the Study?
Adults who are heart transplant candidates
Age Group
Adults
What is Involved?
If you agree to be in this study you will :
-Get 1 of 2 hearts (whichever one becomes available first):
---A Conventional heart that has been stored on ice OR
---A heart from a donor that has been maintained on the study device
