SNOWBALL: COVID-19 Community Study - Clinical Trial

What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to find people who have been exposed to COVID-19 and may be infected but are not aware of it yet. We also want to learn about social activities and behaviors that may lead to the spread of the disease.

What is the Condition Being Studied?

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults who:
-Have a positive COVID-19 test at Duke
-Were given a coupon by a person that has COVID-19
-Are community members who are part of a group that is at higher risk for poor COVID-19 outcomes

What is Involved?

We are looking at ways to identify and contact people who may have been exposed to COVID-19.

-We will be giving coupons to people that have a positive COVID-19 test at Duke, and will ask this person to give these coupons to people they have come into contact with.
-The person that was given a coupon can then go to one of our testing sites and get a COVID-19 test.
---If they have a positive COVID-19 test or are part of a community at risk, they will then get their own coupons to give to people they have come into contact with.
---If they have a negative test, there is nothing else they have to do.
