What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to test the safety of a study drug, IW-1973, when compared to a placebo (a 'sugar' pill), and its effect on the ability to exercise after being taken for 12 weeks.  

What is the Condition Being Studied?

Heart failure

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults over age 50 who:  
- Have heart failure with ejection fraction (EF) of greater than 45%

What is Involved?

If you choose to join this study, you will:
- Be randomized (like the flip of a coin) to get:
-- IW-1973 (a study drug) OR
-- Placebo
- Be in the study for up to 19 weeks
- Have 8 outpatient research clinic visits  
Study tests may include, but are not limited to, blood tests, ECG, Echo, and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Test (CPET).
