Fructose and Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) - Clinical Trial

What is the Purpose of this Study?

We are doing this study to better understand if patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease manage fructose (sugar) differently than patients without nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

What is the Condition Being Studied?

Non alcoholic fatty liver disease (and healthy volunteers)

Who Can Participate in the Study?

Adults over 18 years of age who:
- Have had a liver biopsy in the past 6 months or who have had a clinical diagnosis of cirrhosis at any time
- Healthy volunteers over 18 years of age

What is Involved?

If you agree to join this study, you will:
- Have a 1 hour MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) while receiving fructose (a sugar) through a vein
- Complete several questionnaires
- Have several blood tests
