Venous Disease

At Duke, patients suffering from painful varicose veins, chronic lower extremity edema, venous stasis ulcers, or bothersome spider veins can receive evaluation and treatment in a clinic dedicated to the care of venous disease.

Patients with appropriate disease will be considered for intervention via various modalities such as:

  • Compression therapy
  • Endovenous ablation (either EndoVenous Laser Treatment or radiofrequency ablation)
  • Local sclerotherapy (injection of a saline or other agent to dissolve small malformations)
