At Duke, a limb loss nurse, physical therapist, and certified prosthetist collaborate to offer a multidisciplinary approach to the total care of the new amputee.

This "Amputation Clinic" focuses on lower extremity limb loss secondary to vascular disease.

Care begins pre-operatively and continues throughout the rest of the patient's course, which often culminates with ambulation on a prosthetic limb.
