Duke's Spine Center offers treatment of back pain and spine disorders. Physicians are members of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Neurosurgery within the Department of Surgery at Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina.

The Duke Spine Center brings together leading orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physical therapists, and physiatrists, along with people specializing in occupational medicine and rehabilitation, to diagnose bone and muscle conditions and coordinate personalized treatment plans for people with debilitating back pain and disorders of the spine.

Duke’s spine specialists strive to provide the highest level of patient care reflective of the sophisticated techniques and leading-edge research offered at Duke.

Dedicated Resources for Spine and Back Patients

At Duke, your care includes dedicated resources for spine patients, including pain management specialists as well as nurses specially trained to care for patients who have had spinal surgery.

People from throughout North Carolina, across the southeastern U.S., and around the world come to Duke for treatment of everything from simple injury to herniated discs to congenital spinal deformities.

Nearly 1,000 spinal procedures are performed each year at Duke.
