All speech pathologists and audiologists provide care based on competency-based credentials and level of expertise. All clinical staff:

  • Have either a doctoral or master's degree in Speech Pathology or Audiology from an accredited college or university
  • Are licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
  • Hold, or are working towards, the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech pathology or audiology from the American Speech Language and Hearing Association

Duke Speech Pathology and Audiology is fortunate to have a wide variety of instrumentation and test batteries to assist in providing state-of-the-art evaluation and management of patients with speech, language, hearing, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Staff pride themselves in their collaboration with medical staff, allied health professionals, and administration in addition to the patient and family to meet the needs of those served.
