Physical and Occupational Therapy for Pediatric Gastrointestinal Disease and Disorders

Duke Physical and Occupational Therapy provides therapy and support for patients with digestive and liver diseases.
Our therapy intervention places an emphasis on mobility and activities of daily living to aid in the return of gastrointestinal motility and function. Therapists instruct patients in precautions to prevent abdominal strain.
The types of patients we see are:
- Colorectal cancer patients
- Pancreatic cancer patients
- Those recovering from liver, kidney, or pancreas transplantation
- General gastrointestinal surgery patients
- Patients suffering from gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammation, hernia, and other gastric or colorectal disorders
